SPIDERSTORM
TOM
30 MOONS
DUSKCLAN
WARRIOR
Appearance
Long-haired black smoke tom with yellow eyes
Personality
To most cats, Spiderstorm would seem as if he could never take anything seriously even if his life depended on it. This isn't exactly true. His carefree attitude and childish mannerisms were built as a defense and a coping mechanism. He doesn't want to let the other aspects of his personality, nor his past, to overwhelm him, and so keeps them hidden behind the more cheerful parts.
He cares about his new clan mates a whole lot more than he lets on. He's likely to be seen telling stories to or playing with kits when not hunting or on patrol. In an attempt to make up for his lack of a formal apprenticeship, he can also be seen caring for the elders some days alongside the actual apprentices.
When not being a contradicting, annoying piece of mouse-dung, oh sorry, did I mention he had some self-deprecating humor in there to? No? Well, he doesn't think too well of himself and though he isn't likely to turn into some reckless idiot if ever in battle, he does have this special brand of humor. Joking casually about himself like this, just like his other jokes and puns, which may unnerve some cats at just how casual it is.
There are two aspects of his personality that he'd rather keep hidden if at all possible. The first being an anxious, calculating, serious mix of traits that, while it can lend itself to innovation and invention, creativity and adaptability; it is likely to only show itself in battle. Anxiety over not being able to fight well enough to defend himself or his clan. Calculating and serious to a point where he over-analyzes things and can make a big deal out of something small. The other aspect is a temper that he bottles up until it boils over and explodes.
Noticing the difference between these two very different parts of his personality, he labeled the carefree, energetic, motivated one his "bright" side and the serious, temperamental and calculating part his "dark" side. Not that he'd ever want to explain this to anyone else, mind you. It's mostly for his own benefit in being able to tell when he's switching from one to the other so he doesn't hurt anyone if his temper erupts.

History
Spider and Raven were born to loners Flora and Lizard. Their father wasn't around much, leaving their mother to take care of them, teach them to hunt and fight, and make sure they survived to adulthood. The two kits themselves were practically inseparable. They never went anywhere without the other at their side. Where Spider was the anxious one with a temper like a volcano, his litter mate was energetic and as wild and unpredictable as a storm. They balanced each other out, helped each other keep a level head, and worked together often to hunt prey for themselves and their mother.
It wasn't going to last. Of course it didn't. Lizard, their father, showed up one morning with a small band of vicious rogues who had, apparently, claimed their home as a part of their territory. The rogues asked their mother for her and her kits to join them, and when she hadn't, killed her and her mate as Flora had fought to protect her children.
Spider and Raven fled.
It was moons before they reached the lake, and by now they were no longer scared little kits. At the same time, though, Spider knew they'd never be the same as they once were, having to find their own ways of coping with seeing their parents deaths, their mothers death especially. The duo kept moving, kept each other alive, fearing and praying that the rogues that they ran from would not have followed them this far or for this long yet determined to be prepared for a day in case that happened.
Eventually they stumbled upon cats who welcomed them with open paws. Cats who would, only a moon later, officially be known as Duskclan. Spider couldn't speak for Raven, but this seemed to him like something they both needed to truly heal.
