→Duskstar's Ceremony←
The trek was long, he was tired, and honestly, he wanted it to be over. Dusk had a feeling he needed to be headed in this direction, it was the same nagging feeling that started the whole 'let's remake the clans' idea. He had left his parents and siblings behind to hold down the cats they had gathered that were interested in the clans. His journey had taken him a full day, and it was almost moonhigh. Where he was headed, the tom had no clue, but he was going uphill and following a stream. It seemed he was headed for the source of the water, but he couldn't be sure.

Cresting a ridge at last, the worn path he had been following dropped into a stone hollow, a trail leading down to the edge of a small pool. The stars and moon reflected out of the crystal-like waters, and that wasn't all; there were cats in it. Well, not cats, but the shapes of cats. One pulled itself out of the water, standing at the edge, "Come, brother." The squeaky voice was somehow still celestial, and accompanied by the two dark pits that stared into his own eyes, the large male shivered. Padding forward, he was soon comforted. It was his kit sister, barely larger than his paw. Of course he did not remember her, but he was told she was a pale grey, like the moon. Like her name. But that's not what he saw, he saw swirling stars in her pelt.

"It's time to become a leader, here, put your nose to the water." The small she-kit dipped down and touched her nose to the surface, waiting for Dusk to do the same. Bunching his legs up, he dropped his large frame towards the cool stone. His nose touched the water for only a heartbeat, before he was no longer at the Moonpool. Yes, that's what it was called during the ancient clans, it's what we'll call it now. The ground around him was just empty, dark space, no visible ground, but it was definitely tangible. Above him, he could see the moon and stars and things that looked like the moon, but much larger. Moon stood a few foxlengths from him, and soon more cat-like shapes began to descend from the stars.

"Are you ready, my brother?" Dusk could only swallow and nod. His sister padded up to him, and gently touched his nose with her own. Excruciating pain filled his whole body, his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he collapsed. After a few moments of convulsing, the pain left and the only thing he could feel was the dull throb of his heartbeat. "I'm sorry, I had to strip you of your previous life." He looked up in surprise. They could do that? He stood and dipped his head, he felt it's what he needed to do. A cold nose was pressed to his chest, and his sister spoke once more, "With this life I give you love and compassion. Use it well to care for your clanmates like you would your own kits." An overwhelming feeling of warmth spread through the chocolate colored cat; he was already ready to give his life for his clan.
