Dawnclan is of the mind that if they persevere, if they never back down, if they stick to what they know instead of fearing what is unknown, they will overcome any obstacle. Determination, Consistency, Discipline, and Logic are all valued traits.
Their prey consists of rabbits, mice, birds, bird eggs, shrew, and rodents.
Duskclan has a saying that so long as they can adapt to a situation, find new ways of doing things, they will survive, and even thrive, where the Ancient Clans had not. Creativity, Resourcefulness, Open-mindedness and Flexibility are all valued traits.
Their prey consists of frogs/toads, fish, shrew, rodents, snakes, and lizards.
Both clan identities have their downsides, if left to grow to the extreme.
Duskclan is prone to trying to change too much of themselves, stretch themselves too thin. Some cats may reject something that works because it isn't 'good enough', while others will do everything they can to not become 'stuck' or 'comfortable' with what they have in the present. They can be futurists, inventors and innovators, their creativity lending itself to new ideas on how to do something, yet that too may backfire in that it may be harder for them to get to sleep and or stay asleep.
Dawnclan, on the other paw, has almost the exact opposite problem. They may be prone to getting stuck on one way of doing things under the mindset that, "if it works, why change it?". Some of the more disciplined and logical cats of the clan may find that it's harder for them to think outside the box, or do things outside of a set routine. They may tend to look at the world and try to analyze it, see what's beneath the surface, and the more determined of them would likely try to find out how something works before they go on to use it themselves.
That's not to say it's always a bad thing to want to improve yourself or follow tradition. In fact, when working together, a Duskclan cat and a Dawnclan cat can find that they can accomplish a great deal more for their clans than when working alone. A Dawn cat would make sure a Dusk cat's ideas and inventions actually work, while a Dusk cat would help the Dawn cat to see why they would need such a thing in the first place.
Then Starclan comes into the picture and you know what? They've changed just as much as, if not more than, the living have. Medicine cats are found to have the reflection of the moon in their eyes, phases and all, and some cats note how unsettling it looks during the new moon. They are able to be seen by medicine cats even when said cats aren't asleep or at the Moonpool and those rare kits who see them to, more often than not go on to become medicine cats themselves. But why should it stop there? They don't exactly look like living cats with sparkly fur anymore. Not to the medicine cats at least. No, medicine cats see how these cats looked right before they died with dark, hollow voids where their eyes should be and different parts of the universe shown on their fur, like far off nebulae or galaxies, instead of their living coat color. Their voices echo as if all of them are speaking at once even when it's only just one of them.
Leaders, on the other hand, have a less tangible marker of their status. Instead of any markings or eye changes or seeing Starclan while awake, they hear the ones who blessed them with their nine lives in their head. Each one attempting to guide and end up bickering with each other over what should be done in regards to the leader they blessed. The leaders, upon losing a life, no longer hear the cat that blessed them with that life in their head. While the voices themselves cause headaches and restless sleep, silence and relief only really come when they're on their last life, their original life, and by that point? They may find that themselves lost without those Starclan cats in their head.
Neither position is as great as some cats make it seem.
This information will be updated as time goes on.
